The chiropractic adjustment is key to maintaining health. When the spine is out of alignment, we often feel pain and reduced mobility. This is called a subluxation. Drs. Starkey, Dr. Berardino, and Dr. Leonard are trained to find these subluxations by thorough examination and diagnostic imaging. The adjustment is performed by the chiropractor where a gentle thrust is applied to the body to realign the spine. This decreases pain and improves mobility, circulation and overall health.
All four of our doctors also offer dry needling. Dry needling is a technique for the treatment of pain and movement impairments. The technique uses a “dry” needle, one without medicine or injection, inserted through the skin into areas of the muscle. It targets Myofascial Trigger Points, a taut band of skeletal muscle located within a larger muscle group that can be tender to the touch. They are located throughout the body and play a role in producing and sustaining feelings of pain.
We are also offering $25 Sports Physicals.
In addition to spinal adjustments, we offer a variety therapies to our patients. Everyone is different, therefore we tailor your treatment plan just for you. Our doctors will make specific recommendations for you depending on your condition.
Soft Tissue Therapies
In addition to dry needling, the doctors may utilize cupping, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, or electrical muscle stimulation. Each of these therapy options are specifically targeted at reducing pain and tightness in painful muscles.
This is a revolutionary technology for the treatment of soft tissue injuries, pain and inflammatory conditions. This is also effective in treating many wounds and post-surgical pain and inflammation.
We offer instruction for stretching and strengthening exercises as well as home exercise equipment. Exercise stabilizes the muscles around the spine, therefore supporting the chiropractic adjustment.
We offer custom-made orthotics and custom-made shoes.
This therapy helps take pressure off the spine and spinal nerves through gentle traction. This increases range of motion and decreases pain. This is effective in treating disc herniations, sciatica, and degenerative disc disease.
We offer nutritional counseling for weight loss, osteoporosis, and general well being. Supplements are safe and effective with very few side effects.
